Aluminium billets

Stolvy_BWnoise_CORRECT.png

Almeta manufactures and supplies extrusion billets of different sizes both in homogenized and in the as-cast condition. Upon customer’s request, it is also possible to produce billets with custom chemical composition per the corporate internal standards or other specific requirements. Billets are manufactured on modern equipment by semi-continuous casting. We use the unit fitted with a HOT TOP thermal nozzle to achieve high uniformity of chemical composition along the entire ingot length. Secondary treatment technologies, such as jet degassing and filtration through the ceramic foam filter, ensure high purity of alloy and high quality of ingot metal.

The melting and casting complex includes two stationary flame-contact smelt furnaces with a capacity of up to 70 tons of liquid alloy per shift and a casting machine. The complex includes a system for secondary treatment of smelt with inert gas followed by filtration of metal through the ceramic foam filter. Vertical rope-type casting machine is capable of the simultaneous casting of 40/52/72 high-quality billets (Ø127/152/178/203 mm) up to 7,000 mm in length.

Foundry Master, which is one of the most precise devices for spectral analysis, is used in the plant laboratory to determine the chemical composition of cast alloys. It allows us to 100% sure about the conformity of manufactured products.

The quality of our products conforms to the requirements of GOST 23855-79. Billets with different chemical composition are manufactured from alloys under GOST 4784-97:

  • AD0

  • AD31

  • AD35

Billets made from alloys under the European EN 573-2001 standard:

  • 1050

  • 6060

  • 6063

  • 6082

  • 6005А
